How Can I Work Out Safely?

To ensure that your workout is both safe and effective you should test your blood sugar before you begin.  The process of exercising increases the level of stress hormones in your body, which can also cause your blood sugar to spike briefly.  For patients with difficulty managing blood sugar this means it can increase too much in that first half hour. If this describes your experience wait a bit longer to begin, until your blood sugar hits the 150-180 range.  If you’re a little low 15g of carbohydrates can boost it enough for you to begin.

Evening Exercise Requires Extra Care
